Some recent projects:
Feasibility Study
Looked at several alternative designs for a composite product to evaluate
the cost to manufacture. Performed calculations for cost of materials,
time to manufacture, cost for equipment, cost for labor, cost of energy
and cost for logistics (transportation).
Developed and executed marketing plan
Developed and executed a marketing plan to help a startup company
penetrate into the thermoplastics composite market place. Helped
develop the marketing strategy for their patented new manufacturing
process.
Developed an economic model for a composite fabrication process
Developed a spread sheet model of a composite fabrication process.
The model took into account raw material costs, fabrication times,
staffing levels, facility requirements, capital equipment costs,
machinery throughputs, tooling costs and maintenance times. The
model allowed different scenarios to be compared to determine the
economic viability of the process.
Feasibility Study
Performed a preliminary analysis of a new concept
for producing a composite product. Did a preliminary part design
and developed a machinery concept for the process. Developed a rough
estimate of process throughput and cost to compare to the existing
fabrication method.
Feasibility Study
Conducted a study to determine the feasibility of a new winding machine
design. Looked at preliminary design and estimated costs. Developed
project outline and scope. Made recommendations for areas requiring
further study.
Performed economic analysis of filament winding process
Performed an economic analysis of the filament winding process
for a client. Looked at associated costs for materials, labor, and
capital. Made recommendations for process improvements to lower
costs.
